Special week 9/11 – Mercenaries in Afghanistan

Private armies in Afghanistan. The business of war shows in this case, the profile of some mercenaries that are tough, outspoken, cold-blooded and hired to kill their employer’s target. American embassy in Afghanistan isn’t guarded by US marines but by the employees of a British security company, one of the many ‘private security companies’, as they like to call themselves.

Price: $17.45

Shot by Claudio von Planta and presented by Sam Kiley this documentary portrays the life in prison of one of these mercenaries, Jack Idema, a scapegoat? An American citizen employed by the Afghan or American gov? Jailed with mujahidin pals his living standards in prison seem higher than those you would have expected.
